Process Engineer (Injection Molding)Location: Libertyville, ILPay: $120,000 - $145,000/yrPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Injection Molding Process Engineer to support and optimize molding operations at a new manufacturing facility with brand new molding machines and equipment. This role focuses on establishing robust molding processes, reducing scrap and cycle times, and driving continuous improvement across production. This is a floor-focused engineering role, working directly with molding presses, materials, and tooling to troubleshoot issues, develop stable process windows, and support validation and new product introductions.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain robust process windows for injection molded components using Scientific Molding techniques and DOE (Design of Experiments)Troubleshoot molding processes to identify and eliminate production defectsOptimize processes to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase manufacturing efficiencyConduct process validation and capability studiesSupport new product introductions including process development and equipment qualificationAnalyze workflow, equipment layout, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiencyCreate and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and setup instructionsSupport development and improvement of PFMEA and control plansInvestigate root causes of equipment or process failures and implement corrective actionsCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on continuous improvement initiativesAssist with technical writing, including procedures, risk assessments, and process documentationRequired Experience and SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering8+ years of hands-on injection molding process experienceStrong troubleshooting experience with molding processes and production defectsExperience with hydraulic and electric injection molding pressesKnowledge of molding equipment including dryers, loaders, blenders, hot runner systems, and related processing equipmentExperience processing common resins such as Polypropylene, Polycarbonate, ABS, and NylonExperience developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processesPreferred ExperienceRJG Master Molder certification or Scientific Molding trainingExperience with DOE (Design of Experiments) and process validationExperience with EOAT, six-axis robots, and automation integrationBackground in regulated or high-precision manufacturing environmentsQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national
