You'll be in the field, on the tools, leading jobs, solving problems, mentoring technicians, and setting the technical standard for our testing operations.WHAT YOU WILL DOLead Field Testing OperationsLead de-energized maintenance and acceptance testing projects from job walk through completion.Serve as the technical leader and on-site decision-maker for testing crews.Coordinate daily work across Phoenix and Tucson-area technicians.Conduct job walks and help develop accurate project scopes.Troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment, configurations, and field conditions.Serve as an escalation point for technicians when complex issues arise. Set the Technical StandardAct as a technical resource for testing switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, panelboards, and battery systems.Review Method of Procedures (MOPs), test sheets, and other technical documentation.Review test results for accuracy and completeness before client delivery.Ensure work is performed in accordance with NETA ATS-2025 and NFPA 70E requirements.Stay current with testing methods, equipment capabilities, and industry standards and bring that knowledge back to the team. Develop & Mentor TechniciansTrain and mentor technicians on testing procedures, safety, and documentation.Work alongside less experienced technicians to develop their technical skills and judgment.Identify training and development opportunities across the testing team.Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and quality. Safety & QualityLead by example in LOTO, PPE, and job-site safety.Conduct safety briefings and reinforce a safety-first culture.Support incident investigations and corrective actions.Ensure testing work meets Sabino's quality standards before reaching the client. WHAT YOU BRING5+ years of electrical testing experience, with strong experience in de-energized maintenance testing.Strong working knowledge of:SwitchgearCircuit breakersTransformersProtective relaysIndustrial and commercial power distribution systemsAbility to read and interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and manufacturer test data. Experience preparing or reviewing technical procedures and test documentation, including MOPs, test sheets, and FSRs.Ability to independently assess unfamiliar equipment and field conditions.Strong leadership and communication skills.A valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Arizona as required. Additional assets include:NETA Level II or NICET III or higher.Substation testing experience.Previous lead or supervisory experience.Familiarity with Sage accounting/job costing systems.
