All interns at The City Mission (TCM) are ministers of the Gospel and are vital for the fulfillment of our mission: providing help and hope to all people through the transforming power of God's love. The requirements of your school will determine the social work practicum experience and who will be able to supervisor the practicum. Anyone pursuing an unpaid practicum with The City Mission must be doing so for school credit.Please upload your resume, letter of interest, and school requirements to be considered. HR will then be able to determine if there are available opportunities within TCM based on the school requirements.RequirementsEducation/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Pursuing Degree in Social Work or a related field is required. Essential Physical and Mental Functions: Remains in a stationary position for approximately 40% of the timeStand or walk for up 60% of the time on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)Climb stairs occasionallyBend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties including setting up video recording devicesConstantly operates a computerConstant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workersConstant use of hearing (correctable hearing to normal level required) to conduct interviewsRead, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phonesConstant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments. Spiritual Requirements: Professes Jesus as Lord and SaviorBelieves the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, & ultimate authoritative Word of God (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)Patterns life after the example of Jesus and the commands and principles found in the Bible - consistent with TCM's doctrinal statement, statement of faith, and lifestyle principlesDesires to serve the Lord
