Position Title: Technical Training and Curriculum SpecialistDepartment: Curriculum and TrainingLast Revised: 4/2026Reports To: Manager, Curriculum and TrainingPosition PurposeThe Technical Training & Curriculum Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on product training and developing instructional curriculum for educational and workforce environments. This role bridges technical expertise with pedagogy, ensuring both internal trainees and external school partners can successfully operate, maintain, and understand our equipment.Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesTraining DeliveryConduct in-house product training for customers, educators, and internal teamsFacilitate hands-on instruction focused on safety, troubleshooting, equipment operation, and maintenance.Adapt training delivery to different skill levels and learning environmentsEvaluate trainee performance and provide feedback to ensure competencyCurriculum DevelopmentDesign, write, and update guided hands-on labs, PBL labs, theory assessments, and instructional materialsDevelop curriculum aligned with industry standards and educational best practicesCollaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure technical accuracyContinuously improve curriculum based on user feedback and field experienceProgram Support & ImprovementAssist in maintaining consistency and quality across all training programsSupport new program development initiativesStay current with industry trends, technologies, and teaching methodologiesContribute to the development of training standards and documentationEducation and ExperienceRequired:Experience in technical training, teaching, or instruction (industry or education)Strong mechanical/technical aptitude related to machinery or equipmentAbility to communicate complex concepts in a clear, practical wayExperience developing written instructional materials or curriculumStrong organizational and time management skillsBS Education or Engineering Technology (or relevant field)Preferred:Diverse background in as many of the following areas as possible: Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Process Control, Welding, Machining or similar fieldExperience working with schools, training programs, or workforce developmentFamiliarity with hands-on, lab-based learning environmentsInstructional design or curriculum development trainingExperience in authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe CaptivateIndustry certifications or additional OEM training related to fieldClassification* Exempt - SalarySupervisory Responsibilities* NonePhysical Requirements* Alternating long periods of sitting, standing, walking, or talkingTools and TechnologyComfortable and efficient with office related products (Windows computer, MS Office, Google Suite, email, virtual meeting software)Familiarity with Learning Management SystemsFamiliarity with FANUC Roboguide, Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Digital TwinsPaid company shutdowns, $0 Health Insurance, and Access to Hicksville Direct Primary Care are just a few of the benefits at APT.
