Candidates must be available for occasional early morning or evening meetings to support teams in Japan.Pay Rate: : $95.00 to $99.00/hourContract: 3 month ContractPosition OverviewWe are supporting our client in hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to improve the automation, reliability, and operational efficiency of a platform that supports the full web application lifecycle. This role will focus on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, security, and production support while partnering with engineering teams in the United States and Japan.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide production support for critical SEV 1 and SEV 2 incidents during U.S. business hours.Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that improve deployment speed, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support reliable software delivery.Develop and support monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to improve application performance and system reliability.Apply security patches, platform updates, and infrastructure improvements within established service level objectives.Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system runbooks.Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams across the United States and Japan to support application development and production operations.Required Qualifications3 or more years of professional experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.Strong experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.Hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and cluster management.Strong AWS experience, including cloud infrastructure, IAM, networking, and platform services.Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or the ELK Stack.Strong troubleshooting, automation, and production support experience.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, product, and leadership teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Istio or other service mesh technologies.Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, vulnerability management, and incident response.Understanding of Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.Experience supporting enterprise or multi tenant platforms.Experience with backup and disaster recovery automation.Familiarity with Nx monorepo architecture.Interview ProcessTwo virtual interviews. Technical assessment may be included. Each interview is approximately 60 minutes.
