PAF/Position DetailsPosition Details Position TitleConference Assistant, Meetings, Events & ConferencesPosition StatusLimited Part-TimeBudget Summary Base Pay$3,000 stipend with summer housing and $500 meal cardPosition Summary Information Job Description SummaryIn order to support the summer conference program, the Conference Assistants are essential to deliver a high level of customer service, ensure our guest's safety, assist with Residence Life and provide 24/7 support while groups are on campus.Conference Assistants are crucial in creating a positive summer experience for guests of the University. The quality of their efforts significantly influences the experience of our guests, as the Conference Assistants are integral in providing a hospitable environment where guests feel welcome, safe, and prepared to fully participate in their chosen meeting, event, camp, or conference.The Conference Assistants are supervised by Meetings, Events & Conferences Staff. Candidates must be available from June 1 through August 8 and must reside on-campus. A mandatory orientation will be held on May 21, 2026 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.Must be a Lewis University current student.ResponsibilitiesResponsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.-Attend scheduled training meetings/workshops-Attend all staff meetings-Assist in the preparation of all residence halls that will be utilized during the summer season-Serve in an "on-call" capacity whenever necessary-Attend and/or supervise the activities of internal and external conference clients-Provide excellent guest service and work to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction-Participate in the preparation and check-in/check-out process for all conference groups-Report work orders to MEC Staff-Actively participate in the room and key preparation process-Inspect rooms, surrounding rooms and meals prior to group arrivals and following group departures-Assist with linens and supplies for every group, potential laundering assistance-Administrative assistance, as needed such as nametags, labels, and amenities-Confront violations of University Regulations and refer to an appropriate professional staff member-Act as a resource of information on facilities, schedules, and attractions for Conference Attendees and/or organizers using the information provided and derived from Pre-Conference Meetings-Participate in a rotating "advance" schedule where every location is inspected in advance of guest arrivals-Other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsMust be positive, energetic, flexible with time availability, capable of interacting well with others, and must have a genuine concern for our guests' needs.Preferred QualificationsEssential DutiesWork hoursThe weekly time commitment averages 30 hours per week. Work will be a combination of traditional and non-traditional hours. Due to the nature of the work, some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts will be required. Weekly schedules are based on the needs and dates of the conference/orientation groups.
