Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway PatrolReport In Location - 3665 State Route 4, Bucyrus 44820Work Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm; On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Perks of Working for the Ohio Department of Public SafetyMultiple pay increases over the first years of service!Free Parking!What You'll Do as a Highway Patrol Electronic Technician 1Install all RF mobile & portable electronic equipment, various electronic equipment, various wiring harnesses, various storage boxes, trays, consoles &/or cages into Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) staff vehicles, Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) vehicles, &/or vehicles for other state agencies, which may contain secured ammunition &/or firearms.Perform final inspection of all items listed above & on all electronic equipment installed in vehicles for accuracy & completeness.Test, repair, &/or refurbish electronic equipment & various wiring harnesses; Repair electronic testing equipment used for monitoring & adjusting.Monitor & correct any frequency modulations & power output according to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules & regulations.Log repairs performed & adjustments to equipment per FCC guidelines.Click here to see full position descriptionOption 118 mos. exp. in installation, repair & workings of mobile communication equipment or vehicular electronics; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.Option 2Or completion of 2 yr. technical program in electronics or radio communications; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.Option 3Or completion of associate core program in electronic engineering; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.Note: To meet the minimum qualifications through completion of a 2 yr. technical program, applicants must be able to verify that the technical program consisted of a minimum of 21 credit hours upon completion.Helpful Tips For Applying Be detailed when describing your current/previous work duties.
