We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.Engineer I Pay Range: $80,000 - $87,000Engineer II Pay Range: $90,000 - $99,000Join our team as a Market Design Engineer!The Market Design Engineer is responsible for understanding the current Markets+ market design and evaluating the impact of proposed design modifications. This role plays a critical part in testing market functionality, analyzing system behavior, and solving complex market design challenges to support the successful implementation of Markets+ services.The position also involves providing analytical insights, collaborating with stakeholders, and coordinating market design changes alongside technical implementation efforts across the Markets+ program.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze Markets+ design and evaluate impacts of proposed changesTest and validate market functionality and system performanceDevelop market metrics, reports, and ad hoc analysesSupport market software development, testing, and implementationApply market rules to business operationsProvide technical expertise to stakeholders and committeesSupport FERC filings with data and documentationResearch other market designs and industry practicesDocument analyses and develop educational materialsRespond to customer issues and identify market improvements To be successful as a Market Design Engineer we're looking for:Bachelor of Science in Engineering, this degree should:Be from a university that meets the requirements to sit for the Professional Engineering exam (in Arkansas, that is most typically a degree from an ABET accredited university or a graduate degree from a college that has an ABET accreditation),Degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field and preferred degree programs are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems EngineeringEngineer I - No experience necessaryEngineer II - 2 years of experience Proficient at organizing and conducting technical and analytical studiesKnowledge of electric market concepts and ability to apply understanding in unique analysisAbility to support diverse team members and manage parts of complex analysis projectsStrong facilitation skillsStrong interpersonal and team-building skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCompetent working skills with communication and data handling software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and AccessDemonstrate proficiency in business acumen and professional conduct.Demonstrate the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities.Demonstrate strong organizational skills.Understand and comply with SPP Policies and Procedures.PreferredExperience in electric utility operations, RTO operations or energy tradingExperience with data manipulation and analysis of large data setsPosition Type And Expected Hours Of WorkThis is a full-time position.
