Senior Agentic AI Engineer (Python / React / AWS)Contract Location: Wilmington, DE — 5 days onsiteJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Agentic AI Engineer with strong expertise in Python, React/TypeScript, AWS, and enterprise AI application development. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of software engineering experience and proven hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Agentic AI solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end delivery of AI engineering initiatives with minimal supervision, from requirements analysis through development, testing, deployment, and production support. Design and implement Agentic AI architectures, including autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, planning, reasoning, memory management, tool/function calling, and workflow orchestration. Build enterprise AI applications using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, LangChain, and LlamaIndex. Develop backend services, APIs, AI agents, and orchestration layers using TypeScript/Node.js, including NestJS and Express. Design and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions, vector database integrations, tool calling, function calling, and LLM-powered applications. Work hands-on with Agentic AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI Agents SDK, or similar enterprise frameworks. Develop scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native AI solutions on AWS. Apply best practices in prompt engineering, AI governance, observability, evaluation, security, and model optimization. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Data Scientists, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver enterprise AI capabilities. Independently manage user stories through development, unit testing, peer reviews, Dev/UAT testing, deployment, and production support. Mentor engineering teams and promote engineering excellence across the complete SDLC. Required Qualifications12+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong hands-on expertise in Python, React, TypeScript, and AWS. Extensive experience developing AI/GenAI applications and production-grade enterprise solutions. Strong understanding of Agentic AI architecture and design patterns. Hands-on experience with one or more agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or OpenAI Agents SDK. Strong experience with LangChain and/or LlamaIndex. Proven experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, LLMs, tool calling, and function calling. Strong experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and scalable cloud-native applications. Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, NestJS, and/or Express. Strong AWS development experience and understanding of cloud architecture. Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and production support. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative enterprise environment. Preferred QualificationsExperience building autonomous AI workflows and enterprise-grade Agentic AI platforms. Experience with AI observability, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, governance, and responsible AI. Experience optimizing LLM performance, latency, cost, and reliability. Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Work LocationWilmington, DE — onsite 5 days per week.
