The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM mainframe technologies, system performance optimization, batch processing, and production support. This role involves working closely with infrastructure, application development, operations, and business teams to ensure reliable and secure mainframe operations.Key Responsibilities Design, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe environments and applications.Monitor and optimize mainframe system performance, availability, and reliability.Support and troubleshoot batch processing, job scheduling, and production issues.Manage and maintain:z/OS environmentsJCL processesCICSDB2IMSVSAM datasetsPerform system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity processes.Collaborate with development teams for application deployments and issue resolution.Automate operational tasks and improve system efficiency.Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards.Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational guides.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with:IBM mainframe systemsz/OS administrationJCLCOBOLCICSDB2TSO/ISPFKnowledge of:Mainframe storage and performance tuningBatch scheduling toolsRACF security administrationSystem monitoring toolsExperience troubleshooting complex production and system issues.Familiarity with DevOps or automation concepts in mainframe environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in:Computer ScienceInformation TechnologyEngineeringRelated fieldExperience with:IBM utilities and toolsMainframe modernization initiativesIntegration with distributed/cloud systemsKnowledge of scripting or automation tools is a plus.Preferred CertificationsIBM Mainframe certificationsCompTIA Security+ (preferred in regulated environments)
