Software Engineer II – Java, Spring Boot & React (Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN)
Position Overview:The Software Developer II will play a pivotal role in designing and developing a comprehensive suite of smart card personalization products, which are essential for customizing both physical and digital credit cards. The candidate will contribute to projects using Java, React and other modern web technologies, ensuring alignment with the latest industry security standards. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, leveraging their expertise, strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities, and sound judgment to achieve objectives efficiently.Responsibilities:Passionately design, develop, test, document and deploy softwareTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutionsParticipate in requirement reviews, optimize existing systems, code reviews, unit testing and documentationWork with the team on new requirements and collaborate with other groups within organizatioExhibit a process-oriented mind setFunction independently with project assignments and with minimal supervisionKnowledgeable about secure development life cycle, threat modelling, and web application security assessmentsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree in a technology discipline.3-6 years of experience creating business applications with Java/Spring/React technologiesExperience working with multi-person teams and projectsMust be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for USPreferred Qualifications:Experience with cryptographic programming – PKCS#11, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, padding schemes, key managementExperience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and SQL languages.Experience with Git, BitBucket, Jira, JenkinsExperience with AI integration into the software development lifecycleLow-level security protocols, security standards/vulnerabilities.Experience with multi-threaded developmentWeb services, REST, SOAPExperienced with agile processes, methodologies, and toolsFamiliarity with EMV specificationExperience with XML and JSON parsing and manipulationExperience with optimizing code for performance and troubleshooting performance issuesExperience with one or more of C#, C, PythonYour future short-term and major projects:Adding new features to our smart card personalization suite of products to support latest market needs, including EMV adoption of AES standardsHelp the development team evolve the architecture and stackIdentify opportunities to drive innovation, accelerate product launches, and remove bottlenecks to deliver results faster.Make impactful contributions by helping the team design and code to match the product team's vision and also continue expanding knowledge baseWork Location: This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in-office at our headquarters in Shakopee, MN.
