Our employees are forward-thinking, self-directed individuals who are committed to solving our customers’ technical challenges.SSI is seeking a Space Systems Software Engineer/Program Manager for a role in Albuquerque, NM.This handpicked candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with developing, designing, building, and integrating space system software to include in the space vehicle and ground systems to meet overall mission requirements. In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to our Customer. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high-performing team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program. Engineering responsibilities focus on software deliverables that span technology domains including space rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment. This SETA candidate will provide both technical and programmatic support on software and architecture development, integration and testing for satellites, ground systems and/or subsystems to improve program office insight into state-of-the art IC, DoD, commercial and legacy space vehicle systems, and C2 requirements and capabilities. You must apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.Role and Responsibilities:Supports software design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projectsLeads or supports technical programs, projects, or tasks whose technical complexity requires engineering oversight specializing in softwareEnsures completion of programs, projects, or tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraintsProvides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance, schedule, and budget due to either proposed contractor plans or contractor's execution of accepted plansEnsure the quality of the program, project, or task deliverables meet or exceed standards or metrics and assesses such deliverables to ensure that the final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose for which they are intendedServes as program advisory lead for extremely time critical technical projects, test projects, or tasks requiring appropriate level of technical expertiseAssists acquisition planning, market research, and drafting technical requirements and documentsCoordinates with internal and external stakeholders to verify program needs and identify to meet project goalsHelps the government assess the technical sufficiency, cost, quality, and timely delivery of program deliverablesConfers with the software team to provide technical advice and to assist with problem resolution as neededDrafts, reviews, and edits final program reports, documents, and briefingsSupports acquisition planning and development of documents required for systems acquisitionCoordinates with multiple partners/agencies to ensure system engineering communities support software delivery milestonesTracks and advises design trades and associated cost, schedule, and technical impacts to requirementsWork on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independentlyTranslate complex ideas and data into simple, actionable. recommendations or easily differentiated courses of actionCommunicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—oral and writtenRequired Qualifications:Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experienceAn applicable engineering degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or possess a Professional Engineering licenseRelevant MA/MS/ME degreeExperience in the development and fielding software for space systems to include software architectures and requirements development for satellites and ground systemsUnderstanding of space operational environment and corresponding mission user needsKnowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturingExperience in DoD program management including program development and transitionExperience with Integrated Master Schedules, and risk managementExperience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility (no less than 2 years total SAP and/or SCI environment experience, with 1-year total within last 5 years) and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraphCandidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment Full-time, on site in vicinity of Kirtland AFB, NM, and will require travel up to 30% of time within the continental United StatesDesired Qualifications:Five (5) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCISystem Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program officeExperience with rapid prototypingExperience with integrated air, space and cyberspace capabilitiesExperience developing, deploying, and maintaining ground mission planning architecture and softwareExperience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programsExperience in planning and executing test campaigns for space systemsFluency with IC organizations#ssi #weknowhowtobuildit #spacejobsSpace Systems Integration provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.#ssi #weknowhowtobuildit #spacejobs
