We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.About This RoleAs part of Intersect’s Construction Project Management team, you’ll lead the delivery of large-scale high-voltage substation and transmission line projects across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico supporting infrastructure at voltage levels up to 500kV. This role is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional execution from detailed design through commissioning and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.You’ll collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Operations while serving as a key interface with utilities. Your leadership will directly support the successful interconnection and energization of critical infrastructure that enables large-scale power delivery.Team OverviewThis team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by delivering complex infrastructure projects that connect generation to the grid. The Construction Project Management team partners across internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality, disciplined execution at scale. Joining this team means leading technically sophisticated projects while contributing to a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.What You’ll DoLead High-Voltage Project ExecutionManage the full lifecycle of substation and transmission projects up to 500kV, from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeoutDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with utility and EPC timelinesProactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain momentum and achieve critical milestonesManage Utility & EPC PartnershipsServe as a primary interface with utilities to ensure compliance with grid operator standards and interconnection requirementsOversee three-way coordination between internal teams, utilities, and EPC contractors to drive aligned executionLead administration of construction contracts, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and document controlDrive Financial & Contract DisciplineManage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting to maintain alignment with approved targetsReview invoices and change orders in partnership with Finance to ensure accuracy and transparencyEnsure compliance with contractual obligations, interconnection agreements, and related commercial requirementsChampion Quality, Compliance & ReportingImplement quality assurance processes to ensure construction meets technical specifications and regulatory standardsMaintain comprehensive progress, financial, and risk reports for internal and external stakeholdersEnsure timely resolution of technical issues and documentation management, including as-builts and engineering recordsWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred)5+ years of experience managing high-voltage substation and transmission line projects, including experience on projects up to 500kVDirect experience working with utilities on interconnection, regulatory, and technical mattersStrong understanding of utility-scale transmission infrastructure, EPC contracting models, and high-voltage equipmentKnowledge of regulatory frameworks and interconnection processesProven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams in complex infrastructure environmentsProficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and SlackStrong communication and leadership skills that will help you succeed in utility-facing and cross-functional environmentsWillingness and ability to travel to project sites and support on-site execution as neededTotal RewardsTotal Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000 (total compensation includes base salary + bonus in USD)Equity: Beyond your salary, you’ll receive an Equity Grant, giving you a meaningful stake in our parent company.Health & wellness: 100% premium coverage for you and your dependents on medical, dental, and visionTime to recharge: Unlimited PTO, plus two company-wide breaks (Fourth of July & end of year)Family support: Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus 6 additional weeks for birth parents; access to family planning and family care support through Carrot and MavenMental health: Free access to Spring Health, including 5 free therapy and psychiatry sessions, plus a Headspace account for mindfulness and meditation through our physical health vendor, Wellhub+Perks & extras: $150 monthly food stipend, $150 monthly reimbursement for cell phone and internet, pet insurance allowance, full home office setup, free access to UrbanSitter with $625 in quarterly company-paid credits, ActiveHero, and One MedicalIntersect maintains a work environment free from discrimination, one where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
