Litigation Administrative Assistant

Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Administrative Assistant with five years of experience to join its national litigation team in the Washington, D.C. office. This role provides comprehensive, high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys in a fast-paced environment and is critical to ensuring the efficient management of day-to-day practice operations.In this role, you will provide comprehensive litigation support, including preparing, revising, and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents, while managing electronic and court filings across state and federal jurisdictions, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. You will coordinate depositions, meetings, and travel arrangements, maintain attorney calendars, and assist with billing, time entry, and expense reporting. This role also includes running conflict checks, opening new matters, maintaining client files, and supporting overall practice operations by anticipating next steps and ensuring deadlines and priorities are effectively managed.The ideal candidate brings strong litigation support experience and the ability to independently manage a busy desk with confidence and accuracy. This individual demonstrates excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to supporting attorneys and contributing to a positive, team-oriented office culture. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.5+ years of litigation legal administrative experience within a law firmExperience with state and federal e-filing, including familiarity with DC, MD, and VA courts preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with document management, billing, and time entry systemsAt Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises, and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.• In DC, Salary/Wage Range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually.
