The Lead Laundry Technician completes assigned laundry services duties according to established schedule and productivity standards to ensure the services meet the established guidelines and individual needs or requests throughout the community while directing or leading the work of others.Shift(s)Full Time: Monday -Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm or 10:00 am - 6:30 pm / Every 4th weekendRequirementsMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Lead and direct staff in absence of supervisor and assist in overall daily operations of assigned areaComplete daily assignments to provide customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirementsPick up soiled linen from designated collection areas according to scheduleSort, weigh, wash, and dry all soiled linenOrganize all laundry for distributionProvide accurate documentation of water temperature and dryer filter cleaning per OSHA and Department of Health regulations Monitor appropriate levels of cleaning chemicals according to scheduleComplete personal laundry service for residents of Parsons Health Center as directedClean and maintain laundry equipment, storage area and workstationDocument items for dry cleaning serviceConduct on-going training throughout department to meet regulatory requirements and optimize customer serviceRecognize individual staff members for success of the departmentEvaluate supplies and products on weekly basis required to perform job dutiesAct as a liaison with management and front-line staff to meet day-to-day performance Communicate with management staff regarding information related to staff performance evaluationsPromote cooperation among team membersAdditional duties as assignedEquipmentCommercial laundry equipmentComputerBasic office equipment (copier, fax machine)LadderPhysical RequirementsLift 40 pounds without assistance, 40+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistanceMinimum of 90% of responsibilities will be of a physical nature, i.e., folding, standing, lifting, bending, walking, pushing, pullingAbility to climb a ladderRequired Knowledge, Skills And AbilityKnowledge of OSHA requirementsBasic computer skillsFamiliarity with operating commercial laundry equipmentBasic computer skills to include Microsoft OfficeAbility to communicate effectively; to collaborate with team members and other departmentsAbility to communicate with residents/ staff through verbal and written instructionsAbility to read work assignmentsAbility to work independently Desired Knowledge, Skills And AbilityOSHA certificationExperience working with seniorsPrevious healthcare experiencePrevious hospitality experienceRequired Education And ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalencyFive years commercial laundry experienceTwo years of leadership experienceDesired Education And ExperienceTwo or more years of supervisory experienceOSHA certificationRequired Behavioral CompetenciesExceptional customer service skills and the desire to work in an environment with high standards and expectationsCaring and compassion to residents, families, staff and guests Dedication and compliance with attendance policies Ability to take the initiative, a self-starterPersonal effectiveness SummaryWestminster Canterbury Richmond opened in 1975 and is a premier continuing care retirement community known for its tradition of service excellence.
