Staff Analyst Series (Security Data)

SummaryThe Analyst will support monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects led by the NYCT Department of Security, identifying and executing strategies that improve efficiency and overall performance. The role will conduct data collection, analysis, field observation, research, and modeling to design strategies and programs that optimize decision-making, resource allocation, and operational practices.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will assist in developing and implementing strategies to combat vandalism and fare evasion, provide administrative support for the Video Unit and Security Incident Group, and collaborate with internal and external partners to execute best-practice research.Additional ResponsibilitiesConduct financial analysis and business process reviews for high-profile initiatives to improve MTA's economic efficiency, service quality, and performance.Support departmental, interdepartmental, and interagency working groups to execute projects redesigning the Department of Security.Conduct research and project management to support critical decisions that impact MTA's cost structure and productivity.Collect, prepare, and analyze data for studies and reports.Assist in tactical deployment of specialized enforcement teams for vandalism prevention, graffiti removal, and fare enforcement.Work mandatory overtime and flexible hours as required.Desired SkillsExcellent quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel modeling, SQL, and dashboard development.Strong communication skills, able to present complex quantitative concepts clearly.Strong interpersonal and networking abilities, with proven experience facilitating consensus among stakeholders without direct reporting authority.Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.Familiarity with Python and emerging technologies such as automated data collection and spatial analysis.Knowledge of MTA Payroll systems (PeopleSoft), generally accepted accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Education and ExperienceAssociate Staff AnalystA master's degree or bachelor's degree or associate degree with specified experience, or a high school diploma with seven years of professional experience, as described in the original listing.Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst IIA master's degree or bachelor's degree or associate degree with specified experience as described in the original listing.Special NoteIndividuals eligible for Assignment Level II must have one additional year of professional experience after meeting minimum requirements.CompensationStaff Analyst I (TA): $73,571 – $87,099 (New Hire Rate: $63,972). Staff Analyst I (OA): $71,203 – $84,295. Staff Analyst II (OA): $82,673 – $92,077.
