Department: EngineeringLocation: Arlington, VACompensation: $114,000 - $231,000 / yearDescriptionAbout The Role:Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to be part of our Advanced Capabilities team and based out of our Arlington, VA location.The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and collecting artifacts in support of the company Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts. This individual will collect requirements, document, and manage the ATO process internally and with external stakeholders. The individual will also oversee improving the security posture of IDT’s managed systems as a whole.Clearance & Location Requirements:All applicants must currently possess an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.This is an on-site position. Requiring at least 5 days in office, based out of our Arlington, VA location.What You Will Do: Preparing/Updating Documentation for ATO submission/use case changes across multiple projectsWork with relevant stakeholders in relation to all things relating to ATO’s/RMF processes.Performing regular server updates, patch management, and software installations.Performing ACAS Scans on various devices across multiple systemsCollecting and submitting various STIG checklists for RMF processesDeveloping and maintaining access control policies for various organization assetsRemediating Vulnerabilities and documenting POAMs as required.Implement, maintain, and review security processes to maintain compliance and ensure user permissions are accordinglyHelp develop and maintain various golden images in support of business area activities to include operating system images and virtual machines.Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of systems and networks for usage by both technical and non-technical stake holdersWho You Are:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent full-time professional experience.5+ years of full-time professional experience in systems administration or system engineering disciplineExperience with NIST 800-53 and relevant security controlsExperience with developing POAMs for relevant stake holdersExperience working in a VMWare Environment or similar virtualization platform.Experience using Tenable Security Center/Nessus Scanning toolsExperience with Trellix or other antivirus/endpoint solutionsExperience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languagesUnderstanding of common TCP/IP concepts to include TCP, UDP, VLANs, DHCP, and routing at a minimumExperience Provisioning and Installing both Physical and Virtual Machines for organization needsSecurity+, CCNA, or equivalent IAT Level II certificationExperience with hardening devices and updating DISA STIG ChecklistsExperience with patching and remediating vulnerabilities in a closed networkAbility to travel approximately 10% of the time needed.What Makes You Stand Out:Strong Understanding of Red Hat or similar Linux distributions.Experience working with networking within a tactical systemExperience with the United States Navy Risk Management FrameworkExperience with Cross Domain SolutionsExperience with configuring multiple forms of authentication to include PKI concepts.Experience with having to identify hardware and/or software for purchase to meet various use-cases.Experience with Ansible, PowerShell, Chef, Salt, Puppet, or any other configuration automation software.If you see yourself reflected in this role and are excited about the impact you could make, we encourage you to apply! The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels.
