Overview
We are a multi-business construction enterprise. We are seeking a Controller to become an integral part of our team, responsible for our restoration-based construction company. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all Accounting and Finance activities of our organization. We execute a small volume of high-value projects annually, each one with unique characteristics. This requires a team leader who can evaluate each project’s financial needs and adapt processes as needed to ensure proper accounting and documentation is maintained.
Responsibilities
Manage a team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Accounting.
Review weekly disbursements to subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and employees.
Establish and maintain sustainable AP and Billing process, in collaboration with Field Management, to support efficient cash collections.
Review A/R weekly, assist with collections, reconciliation, and bad debt analysis and reporting.
Execute month-end close including WIP deferral and revenue/cost accrual entries.
Manage cash position with a goal of minimizing owner funding.
Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and process journal entries.
Balance sheet account reconciliations.
Assist with forecasting and budgeting.
Assist in the development and implement workflow controls.
Attend and influence meetings.
Assist in any audits including insurance.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business and/or corporate accounting. Construction experience is required.
Experience with AIA billing strongly preferred.
Strong aptitude and operational skills in accounting software (QuickBooks).
Strong aptitude and operational skills in MS Office software.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
