🔍Business Affairs: University IT (UIT), Stanford, California, United StatesNew📁Marketing📅5 days ago Post Date📅109127 Requisition # This is a 2-year fixed term position.Position OverviewThe Program Manager will collaborate with the Executive Director of Stanford Research Computing (SRC) to lead the strategic coordination of the Research Computing Capacity Planning Project, a high-priority initiative aimed at balancing on-premise and co-located data center capacity with the expansion of cloud based research technology services. This role will manage and track program activities and communications to drive the project forward, including coordination between SRC infrastructure and researcher-facing support groups and Stanford research teams, to ensure sustainable growth of Stanford’s research computing footprint.Key ResponsibilitiesIncentive Program Management: Manage the transition of researchers to optimized platforms through the administration of incentive programs and resource allocation in collaboration with project leadership and technology providers.Cloud Service Development: Assist in defining and launching new cloud service offerings, translating researcher needs into actionable agreements and services.Program Coordination: Participate as a member of the Capacity Program leads team Act as a primary point of contact for the Research Computing Capacity Planning project and provide coordination across all assigned components of the project.Reporting: Assist in the development and presentation of regular progress updates to SRC and University leadership. Report to campus stakeholders and the program teams on a regular basisCommunication: Collaborate closely throughout with the SRC researcher-facing, system administration and storage teams to ensure solutions are meeting the needs of the research team.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.QualificationsProven experience in technical program or project management within a complex academic, or similar, environmentFamiliarity with data center operations and/or large-scale research computing infrastructureKnowledge or experience with the top cloud service offerings on the market todayAbility to navigate procurement processes and vendor managementExcellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical engineers and research teams; strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior researchersPhysical Requirements*:Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
