Maintenance Manager

Judge Direct Placement is working with a manufacturer in the Easton, PA area seeking a Maintenance Manager who will be a strategic leader tasked with transforming their maintenance function from a reactive service provider into a proactive reliability engine. This role is not simply about fixing equipment; it is about re-engineering the culture, processes, and systems that underpin our entire operation. The primary objective is to lead a high-performing team in the adoption of Lean and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to drive world-class uptime and operational efficiency.Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Spearhead a cultural shift focused on equipment "ownership" and pride in reliability. Establish clear performance benchmarks and mentor the team to move beyond "firefighting" to high-value technical execution.Reliability Strategy: Architect and refine a robust Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) framework. Transition the department toward data-driven maintenance intervals that extend asset life and eliminate catastrophic failures.Failure Analysis & Mitigation: Institutionalize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all significant downtime events. Develop and implement permanent engineering or process solutions to prevent recurrence.Systems Optimization: Leverage the CMMS as a strategic tool to monitor and improve critical metrics, specifically MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).Operational Alignment: Collaborate horizontally with Production and Supply Chain to synchronize maintenance cycles with the production master schedule, maximizing OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).Fiscal Optimization: Optimize the maintenance budget by reducing the "hidden costs" of inefficiency, such as emergency overtime, expedited parts, and lost production capacity.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Management, or an equivalent technical discipline.Experience: 7+ years in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role specifically focused on organizational turnaround or process improvement.Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of automated systems, PLCs, and mechanical infrastructure, paired with expert-level CMMS management.Methodologies: Proven expertise in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma environments.Change Management: Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels—from the shop floor to the front office—and the resilience to lead teams through structural and cultural change.
