PTS Recreation Leader III, Facility Reservations
Description/Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe City of Santa Clarita has a part-time/seasonal (PTS) position available in the Recreation and Community Services division. Under the leadership of the Community Services Supervisor and Coordinator, this position will assist in providing quality customer service for Grand Room and other room reservations at the Canyon Country Community Center.This position must work up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and during select weekends and evenings; the hours are based on the needs of programming. Duties And Responsibilities Answers phone line and effectively addresses issues and concerns with patrons as they arise Monitors Grand Room reservations at the Canyon Country Community Center, including enforcing permits, rules, and regulations Assists with facility tours, rental reservation applications, Docusign contracts, room lay-outs, and e-mail communication with renters Assists with processing Facility Reservation payments and refunds Assists with the coordination of Porter Services Communicates with vendors on occasion Ensures all City policies, procedures, and protocols are enforced Interacts with participants and visitors in person, by phone, and by e-mail Reports incidents and accidents to the supervisor and completes incident/accident reports Maintains various forms, logs, and reports May assist in organization, set-up, and clean-up of facility, events, and rentals Attends meetings and training sessions as needed Assists with the training of other staff. Other activities and duties as directed by the Recreation and Community Services Supervisor and CoordinatorEducation and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent Two years of related work experience working in customer service, clerical support, facility operations, or other relateable setting Possession of, or ability to obtain, an Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Bilingual in English/Spanish highly desirable Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary will be consideredKnowledge and Abilities Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and positively both orally and in writing Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle conflict, issues, and concerns with the public and staff Ability to make sound decisions within established guidelines and be a creative problem solver Ability to observe safety principles and work in a safe manner Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and staff Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Strong work ethic, proactive, and the ability to learn quickly Ability to learn and navigate a variety of recreation software as needed Strong team player and the ability to work both independently and as part of a workgroup Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) Ability to lift, drag, and push files, paper, equipment, banquet tables/chairs, podiums, stage, and dance floor weighing 40 pounds or moreAdditional InformationAPPLICATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon)An online completed City application form is required to apply for this position.
