Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas.Volunteer ServicesThe Volunteer Services Department at Midland Care Connection is responsible for recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers who support the organization’s programs. They ensure volunteers are properly prepared and placed in roles that match community needs, such as hospice support, meal delivery, administrative help, and reception services. The department also manages scheduling, communication, and ongoing support to keep volunteers engaged and effective.Meals on WheelsMidland Care’s Meals on Wheels program is a vital service that delivers hot, nutritious meals and wellness-checks to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. The program prioritizes individuals at high nutritional risk and is not income-based, allowing anyone who meets the age or homebound criteria to participate. With the help of hundreds of volunteers who deliver meals Monday–Friday, Midland Care supports independence, reduces social isolation, and ensures older adults receive balanced meals in the comfort of their homes.Volunteer CoordinatorManages the daily operations of the volunteer program by recruiting, screening, and training new volunteers. They match volunteers to roles that fit their skills and availability and ensure each person is prepared for their responsibilities. Also handle scheduling, communication, and ongoing support, making sure shifts are covered and volunteers stay engaged. By acting as a link between volunteers and staff, the coordinator helps ensure services run smoothly and that volunteers provide meaningful support to participants, families, and the community.Hours Monday - Friday | 7:30am - 3:30pmQualificationsRequired High Energy! Ability to help build the volunteer services department - we are growing!Ability to build relationships - we love our volunteers!Handles pressure gracefully and effectively manage crucial situationsComfortable talking to strangersHigh school diploma or equivalent Experience in customer service, administrative work, or volunteer coordinationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsGreat organizational and time management abilitiesBasic computer skills (email, scheduling systems, data entry)Ability to work with diverse populations, including seniors and patientsReliable transportation and valid driver’s licensePreferred QualificationsExperience in sales, marketing, and/or recruitingExperience in healthcare or nonprofit environmentsPrior volunteer management or coordination experienceFamiliarity with volunteer or scheduling software systemsStrong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and empathyWhat’s in it for you?
