The HR Assistant is responsible for assisting the HR Manager in the administration of all aspects of human resources (i.e., managing files, audits, orientation, benefits, etc.). The candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and possess excellent computer, people, written communication, and verbal skills. Key Sub Tasks Responds to external HR inquiries for reference checks, verifications of employment status, and unemployment claims. Supports various company events. Compiling reports and spreadsheets, as needed. Maintaining employee and accounting records. Completes onboarding with new hires. Assist with benefit plan eligibility, reviewing benefits with employees and processing enrollments, changes and cancellations; annual open enrollment; monitoring invoices; reconciling employee deductions and approving invoices for payment. Maintain confidential records and personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, vacation, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met. Audit benefits monthly. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 2+ years experience in human resources required. Ability to handle data with confidentiality. Ability to work with a team or individually. Experience in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion. Approachable and appropriate interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment. Microsoft Office experience, strong Excel skills. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently. Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality. Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and be able to improve performance through management feedback.
