Senior Electrical PE

OverviewLong & Associates Architects & Engineers are seeking an experienced Electrical / Sr. Electrical Engineer PE to join our team in sunny Florida. We are a 52-year-old, family-owned Federally designated small business with a collaborative and growth-oriented environment in a full-service A/E setting. Relocation to South Tampa/central Florida area may be required for the role. Vehicular travel is required; out-of-state and overnight travel are rare. We value creativity, teamwork and active contribution across disciplines.ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for building renovations and new construction, including power, lighting, and signal systems for Commercial, Educational, Industrial and Governmental facilities.Work with Architectural and Mechanical engineering team members to provide electrical design that meets building, equipment and system requirements. Preference given to knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk REVIT; 3D/BIM compliance is preferred.Perform calculations for lighting, power, distribution, conduit sizing, fault calculations and coordination of electrical devices and overall systems.Utilize software to design lighting to meet State and ASHRAE energy requirements and perform energy analyses for sustainable practices. LEED knowledge and ability are essential; participate in LEED building credential programs on designated projects.Design and apply low voltage systems including data networks, telephone, mass notification, CCTV, security and Fire Alarm systems (Division 27/28 experience required).Prepare Construction Drawings utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT for signing and sealing in accordance with Florida laws; ensure code-compliant designs using Federal, State and Local Codes.Conduct field investigations of existing conditions for new and renovation projects; participate in punchout of completed projects.Assume project management leadership on prime electrical projects; meet with clients to assess needs and provide solutions; prepare cost estimates to meet scope and budget requirements.Coordinate with internal disciplines daily to support a collaborative team environment and help drive successful project outcomes.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited); MSEE preferred.Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license REQUIRED; 5+ years' experience in related work preferred.RCDD a major plus; LEED AP or BD+C a plus.Strong leadership, client relationship skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.Demonstrated computer modeling experience in REVIT; knowledge of EasyPower or related Power design programs essential.Excellent verbal, written and communication skills; ability to multi-task and network within the local community.Ability to design and lead projects, including power, lighting, data networks, and life-safety systems; capability to manage multiple projects and teams.Must be able to relocate as required and possess legal work authorization; FDLE Level II screening required; EVerify compliance.Company and BenefitsStrong professional growth and constant professional developmentExperience across Architecture and Engineering disciplines; opportunities to build industry contacts and partnershipsCompetitive salaries commensurate with experience; potential for growthGreat work atmosphere with a collaborative, close-knit teamBenefits: 401(k), health care, profit sharingProject experience across K-12, Colleges/Universities, Libraries, Government and Industrial facilitiesLocation and SubmissionsLocation: Must be willing to relocate as may be required.
