This role supports high-hazard nuclear operations by ensuring safe and compliant execution of design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities. The selected candidate will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support mission-critical national security objectives while maintaining the highest standards of radiological safety and operational excellence.Responsibilities and DutiesSupport design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities for complex high-hazard systems and projectsProvide Radiation Protection expertise and technical recommendations to project design, work control, and construction teamsPerform independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized Radiation Protection expertiseInterface with management personnel, project teams, and customer representativesDevelop and enforce work standards and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and requirementsCoordinate with functional organizations and support project execution activitiesProvide leadership and guidance to project teams and senior personnelSupport work planning activities within DOE Category 2 nuclear facilitiesCommunicate effectively through oral and written formats with internal and external stakeholdersSupport long-term travel assignments as requiredMinimum QualificationsMinimum of eight (8) years of relevant experienceMinimum of five (5) years of directly applicable experience in Radiation Protection and/or work planning within a DOE Category 2 nuclear facilityExperience supporting DOE plutonium facility operationsAbility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q ClearanceAbility to obtain and maintain unescorted and A-Level accessStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to work full-time on-site in a secure environmentU.S. Citizenship requiredDesired SkillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong collaboration and teamwork abilitiesExcellent organizational and coordination skillsUS Nuclear Navy experienceDOE Plutonium facility experienceStrong conduct of operations knowledgeEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to Radiation ProtectionNo degree required if equivalent directly related experience is demonstratedNo specific software experience requiredNo certifications requiredAdditional InformationStart Date: June 2026Number of Openings: 3Per diem available when on travel to LANLLong-term travel requiredNo driving requirements associated with this positionResume review turnaround expected within 7 working daysWhy Work at COMPA Industries?We strive to provide careers, not just jobs, for our employees.
