ResponsibilitiesThe Food Service Worker may work anywhere on property where food is preparedThis person will assist in the setup and serving of food from counters and steamtablesDuties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and workstationsThe general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the positionReads recipes and/or product directionsEstimates food requirementsOperates a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storingAssists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilageInspects workstations for compliance with service standardsKeeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as neededCleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client, and regulatory rules and proceduresMay taste test productsSets up stations with entrées, soups, salads, bread, condiments, other food products and utensilsProvides general stocking duties in the service areaServes and replenishes food from counters and steam tables (sometimes using a conveyor food belt), and breaks down stations at the end of meal periodsBrews coffee and teaMay be required to restock other beverage areasInteracts with customers in the serving, retail, and dining areasAssists customers with opening containers and cutting food when requestedAttends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service trainingComplies with all company safety and risk management policies and proceduresReports all accidents and injuries in a timely mannerParticipates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessmentsComplies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and proceduresAttends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designatedMay work on a trayline to distribute foodMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assignedGenerally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and eventsVarying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictatesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities
