Senior Mechanical Construction Scheduler & Claims Avoidance Specialist

Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Construction Scheduler in Chicago Metro to develop comprehensive project schedules and proactively manage claims avoidance strategies. Impact Keep complex mechanical projects on schedule and within scope. Identify and mitigate delays before they impact project delivery. Protect company interests through precise documentation and analysis. Support project teams with data-driven schedule insights. Responsibilities Develop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Monitor progress and update schedules based on field conditions. Analyze critical path activities and forecast completion dates. Identify schedule impacts and prepare time extension analyses. Document delays and maintain change order justification records. Collaborate with project managers on recovery plans. Generate schedule reports and present to stakeholders. Support claims preparation with forensic schedule analysis. Requirements Must-Haves: 5+ years of construction scheduling experience, preferably mechanical or industrial projects. Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Strong understanding of CPM scheduling and critical path analysis. Experience with delay analysis and claims documentation. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Nice-to-Haves: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering. PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) certification. Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or other construction management software. Knowledge of construction contract types and legal implications.
