This position will be responsible for completing tasks personally and supervising a crew as a working foreman. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.Autonomy & Decision Making: Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.Career Path: Aptitude Superintendent 1Key Role Responsibilities - CoreAPTITUDE FOREMAN FAMILY – CORELearns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury free environment through individual actions and mentoring othersWorks with tools to complete specific assigned tasks on a projectTracks and reports units and labor hours, including filling out and submitting timecardsMaintains proper care and the appropriate number of tools and equipment necessary to support productions specific to a projectLeads and monitors safety and security procedures within the crewDocuments key information such as activities, productions and crew sizesCommunicates with suppliers and coordinates delivery of supplies to jobsiteUnderstands and maintains established quality levels associated with dutiesCoordinates other trade work associated with the assigned scope of workParticipates in all safety activities such as tool box talks, job hazard analysis, job site analysis and SIMS (Site Information Management System) reportingReads and understands plans, specifications, shop drawings and coordination drawingsProvides on-the-job guidance and willingly shares subject matter expertise in order to support team member learning and developmentCoordinates inspections for assigned scope of workManages subcontractor crews for portions of projects or a small projectCreates, communicates, monitors and achieves crew production goalsCoordinates work for larger crews and/or other trade foremenCoordinates preplanning activities for project components such as schedule, materials, meetings and manpowerCreates and implements safety plans and ensures compliance through use of training, tool box talks and communication with safety representativesControls costs in production units through understanding multiple variables, such as the project management system, task specific reports, production and costs for assigned responsibilitiesSupports project quality assurance/quality control planning to ensure quality for assigned tasksApplies and leads Lean principles and practices on the jobsite such as daily stand-up meetings, pull planning, etc.Key Role Responsibilities - Additional CoreN/AKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely mannerEffective Communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to apply Lean process and philosophyKnowledge of specific trades and scopes of workProficiency in MS Office and other computer applicationsProficiency with termination tools and inspection scopesUnderstanding of MPO trunks and high-density systemsProficient with OTDR, OLTS, and inspection toolsDemonstrated ability to manage multi-system integration projectsBICSI, NICET, or manufacturer certifications preferredBasic understanding of principles of layout and construction mathAbility to complete assigned duties with minimal guidanceAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externallyEducationHigh School Diploma or GED (Preferred)Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.Experience3+ years’ experience in cable installation, testing and/or maintenance, with a preference for experience in a data center environment (Preferred)2+ years’ experience supervising construction or fiber cable installation (Preferred)Working EnvironmentMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold) Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs Must have reliable transportation May require use of respirator Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches) Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Kneeling, Carrying, Swinging, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Balancing Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen Specific environmental and physical requirements may vary by project type/location Benefits InformationThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Union.
