Senior Backend Engineer, AWS
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the CRM Platform team of a fast-growing, product-driven SaaS organization operating at scale. This role will focus on building and maintaining the backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that power customer data and communication systems across the business. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in New York City. The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering fundamentals, cloud experience, and a passion for building reliable, scalable systems. U.S. work authorization is required. No visa sponsorship is available at this time.Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer, AWS/NodeLocation: Hybrid - New York CityResponsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs to support internal platforms and customer data systems Develop and manage data pipelines to ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility across business-critical systems Build and support integrations between third-party platforms and internal services (e.g., CRM and customer engagement tools) Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, data flow, and service reliability Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions Contribute to system architecture discussions, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability Work heavily within a cloud-based environment, leveraging AWS services and modern backend frameworks (Node.js)Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable applications and services Strong experience with Node.js; Python experience is a plus Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Terraform is a big PLUS, or advanced AWS/CloudFormation experience MUST HAVE Experience working with event-driven architecture and distributed systems Experience designing and working with APIs and third-party integrations Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar) Exposure to modern data platforms or tooling such as Databricks or Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) is a plusCompensation Base Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 + $5k-$10k bonus eligible Bonus incentive based on company performance, plus a competitive overall benefits package.Additional Information Hybrid role based in New York City Must be authorized to work in the United States — no visa sponsorship available Opportunity to work on high-impact systems supporting a global-scale product and internal data ecosystem.For more information or to apply, contact Ryan Dwyer at rdwyer@Talener.com
