Structural Carpentry Apprentice
Handley Construction is seeking a Structural Carpentry Apprentice to join our team building custom homes and residential projects throughout the Walla Walla Valley.
This position focuses on the structural phases of construction including foundation preparation, ICF installation, framing, roofing, and exterior siding systems. Apprentices work directly alongside experienced carpenters and builders while developing hands-on construction skills in the field.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn how homes are built from the ground up and take pride in producing quality work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Foundation & Site Work
Assist with footing excavation and foundation preparation
Help with layout, grading, and material staging
Support installation of footing and foundation systems
ICF & Structural Systems
Assist with installation and bracing of ICF wall systems
Help place reinforcement and prepare for concrete placement
Learn structural layout and building methods
Framing & Exterior Construction
Assist with floor, wall, and roof framing
Install sheathing and structural components
Help install roofing systems, flashing, and weather barriers
Assist with exterior siding and trim installation
Jobsite Operations
Maintain organized and clean work areas
Operate safely around tools and equipment
Support crew efficiency by staging materials and maintaining workflow

Basic construction or tool experience is helpful but not required
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay: $17.50 - $25.00 per hour
