Overview
In this role you will shape the software and data architecture for BNATCS, enabling modern, secure NAS operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture standards, governance, and cloud patterns that support mission-critical air traffic management. You will drive safety compliance, data governance, and interoperable data exchange across domains, delivering архитектural baselines and artifacts. ResponsibilitiesDefine enterprise ICD templates, authoring standards, and interface registry governanceEstablish CI/CD pipeline reference architecture with build, test, security scan, and deployment stagesEnforce DO-178C software safety compliance for safety-critical NAS systemsDefine cloud reference architecture for BNATCS (AWS GovCloud/Azure Government)Produce architecture baselines, ADRs, and artifacts for NEEDS package systemsCoordinate DevSecOps pipeline standards with security gates (SAST/DAST)Define enterprise data governance policy framework (ownership, stewardship, quality, lifecycle)Develop canonical data models and enforce naming conventions across domain teamsDesign data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming, event-driven) for cross-package data flowsEnforce aviation data exchange format compliance (SWIM, FIXM, AIXM) across domain teamsProduce data architecture artifacts for NEEDS package systems (data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, data flow diagrams)Support procurement trade studies with software and data architecture evaluation criteria
Key requirementsBS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related fieldMinimum 12 years with BS/BA; minimum 10 years with MS/MA; minimum 7 years with Ph.D.US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a public trust clearanceProficiency in distributed systems, microservices, API design, and cloud-native patternsExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)Knowledge of DO-178C software safety standards preferredExperience with data modeling tools and methodologies (ERwin, Sparx EA, or equivalent)Experience with data governance frameworks and master data managementKnowledge of cloud data architecture patterns (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)Experience with ICD authoring and interface management for complex systemsFAA or DoD software/data architecture experience preferredDevSecOpsCI/CD pipelinesDocker/KubernetesDO-178CERwinSparx EA
