Granite Enginering Group, Inc. is an engineering company providing geotechnical consultation and design, material testing, construction inspections and construction management services located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are expanding our operation with a new branch in Denver to serve the projects and clients that we have been working with in the past 4 years. We are solicitating self-motivated candidate who has qualifications and experience to lead our material testing group in our new branch, and wants an opportunity for long term growth with the company. Job Overview Highly motivated self-motivated and be able to perform tasks with little or no supervision. Overseeing the field technicians for various concrete, soil and asphalt testing following ASTM, AASHTO, and other governing procedures. Reviewing and approve test results in terms of specification compliance. Performing field inspections and observations on roadways, structures, and other construction projects. Proactively communicating with the clients to progress the project and meet the project schedule and goals. Monitoring work progress for compliance with project specifications. Performing analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data. Qualifications: At a minimum, this position requires the following: Professional Engineer preferred 6+ years of materials testing and/or inspection experience, particularly in concrete and soil. Must have the ability to interpret construction plans/ drawings and project specifications as well as industry standards for testing (ASTM and AASHTO).
