Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and fitting operations to prepare materials. Verify dimensions and alignment using measuring tools, squares, and levels. Perform MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding carbon steel materials. Maintain high-quality standards in weld appearance, size, and penetration. Work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet production schedules. Inspect welds for conformance and report nonconformities to supervision. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, material handling, and safe equipment operation. Must always wear appropriate protective gear, including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots. Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and shop protocols. Must be able to identify potential safety risks in the work area and take proactive steps to eliminate or report them. Must be able to follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and fabrication drawings to ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance. Safely lift, move, and position materials using proper techniques and mechanical assistance when needed. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. Attend scheduled safety training. Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE). Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained. PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY:Responsible for supporting and complying with the company’s Integrated Management System, which aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) standards. Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility by following established IMS procedures aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Completion of welding certification program or equivalent hands-on welding experience (1-2 years preferred)Basic proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes. AWS D1.1 or equivalent certification is a plusAbility to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Familiarity with fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, torches, and layout tables. Strong understanding of weld joint preparation and fit-up techniques for tube steel. Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement consistently. Physical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and move about the fabrication shop and production floor for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day). Occasionally required to sit, talk, hear, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, or climb short ladders or platforms. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate welding equipment, inspection tools, and a computer keyboard. Visual acuity to read small print, interpret data, inspect parts, and identify quality defects. Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes. Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding arcs, grinding, cutting, fabrication noise, heat, sparks, and occasional fumes. Indoor fabrication shop environment.
