We're transforming performance and efficiency for customers across the globe, giving them the vital edge in their markets.Make an impactSupport, repair, and upgrade installed systems at customer facilitiesProvide after-hours controls support of customer automation systems as required and maintaining remote access credentialsProvide onsite support of electrical / mechanical and controls installationsElectrical/mechanical troubleshooting of automation systems to reduce customer downtimeResponsible for modification of existing PLC and HMI software for customer automation systems on a project basisWork with project manager to ensure enough time is allotted in the project schedule for the required work to be completedPre-project prep work is complete in a timely mannerOn-site commissioning of equipment primarily from a controls standpoint with in-depth knowledge of the electrical / mechanical installation as wellAssist with on-site leading of project team to ensure project is progressing per scheduleDevelop documentation and knowledge base articles as required by projectsProvides onsite team with guidance on Swisslog standards for electrical wiring and labelingWhat you need to succeed3-5 years of experience in technical environment inclusive of strong electrical/mechanical troubleshootingAbility to troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems using PLC software to localize issuesAbility to read and modify PLC code written in multiple different languagesKnowledgeable in Siemens Step 7 Classic and TIA Portal with familiarity of their programming languages (Ladder, statement list, and function block diagram)Ability to multi-task and work independentlyHighly proactive and self-motivatedIndustrial experience with sound knowledge of electro-mechanical or automation systemsApplication knowledge of warehouse distribution systems (pallet or tote conveyor, storage and retrieval machines, monorail systems, etc)Experience with AC Variable Frequency Drives and low voltage controls systemsExperience programming Variable Frequency Drives from scratchKnowledge of controls programming languages like: Ladder, Statement List, Function Block Diagram, or Structured TextTravel as required to support projects, including weekends and potentially holidaysDesirable:BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer ScienceSiemens or Allen Bradley CertificationsExperience with Industrial Ethernet and modern field buses (PROFIBUS, ASi, DeviceNET, etc),Experience with the following VFD OEMs: SEW, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or KukaExperience with structured text programming languagesEPLAN or AutoCAD-E familiarity/experienceDemo3d or other industrial emulation softwareShows ownership and pride in craftsmanshipKnowledge of electrical/mechanical standards and best practices (don't run communication cable next to high voltage, e-stops must operate a certain way, etc)Our promise to youSwisslog is a world of opportunity for people who can deliver a game changing mission: driving the future of intralogistics, by shaping an era of robotic and data-driven automated solutions that create exceptional customer value.Join us on this journey and you'll be part of a global enterprise that's proud of its Swiss roots - and hugely excited by the worldwide opportunities open to everyone in the Swisslog family.
