As the state’s federally designated organ recovery organization and an accredited tissue bank, we are dedicated to making a profound impact on countless lives.About The RoleThe Import & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all organ offers to local transplant centers, and the logistics associated with the import process. In addition, the Import & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for all internal and external TxJet flight requests. This is a night shift position, working 8 am to 8 pm including two weekends per month. Responsibilities include:Managing import offers for heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, intestine and kidneys for local transplant centersResponding to offers within the OPTN guidelinesScreening organ offers against established decline criteriaClearly presenting primary offers to local transplant centersEffectively communicating physician’s requests to host Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs)Coordinating flight and ground transportation for import organs, INDN staff and transplant staffArranging flyouts for organs, effectively coordinating appropriate timelines with transplant coordinators and transplant physicians involvedProviding services to both internal and external customers in relation to TxJet requestsAt this time, we are taking applications for both day and night shifts. This team has a 12-hour schedule from 8:00 to 8:00. The days of the week rotate and require every other weekend, with three shifts one week and four shifts the next.Who We’re Looking ForCandidate must meet one of the following minimum prerequisites:Completion of an advanced degree in Transplantation & Donation ScienceRegistered NurseCertified ParamedicRegistered Respiratory TherapistCertified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) with current ABTC certificationAn equivalent amount of OPO experience in a clinical setting and a High SchoolDesired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Include General understanding of disease processes and how they affect organ functionExtensive knowledge of medical terminologyStrong knowledge of anatomy and physiologyAbility to interpret lab values, chest x-rays and CT results to recognize abnormalities and to appropriately treat abnormal valuesAbility to read and follow checklists, procedures and provide direction to other staffAbility to effectively communicate and interact with nurses, physicians, hospital/transplant professionals, and Indiana Donor Network employeesAbility to remain calm in stressful situationsSkill in handling multiple tasks simultaneouslySkill in charting, including ability to accurately enter data into an online system Benefits & PerksAt Indiana Donor Network, we believe in taking care of our team members.
