We value resourcefulness, effective communication, accountability, and integrity; and great candidates will care deeply about those things, too.The Role: Financial Analyst and M&A UnderwriterWe seek a full-time Financial Analyst and Underwriter with an accounting/finance background. Experience as an commercial banking underwriter, bookkeeper, accountant, or credit analyst for small businesses is preferred, but candidates with finance roles, and new graduates with accounting/finance/business degrees are welcome too. This can be an entry-level position for the right candidate, or a great career change opportunity for a tax or banking professional.Responsibilities:Collaborate with clients and their accountants to obtain financial statementsProcess financial data into our internal review systemIdentify discretionary and one-time expenses through investigation and client team interactionsAudit financials to produce recasted financial statements for buyer reviewIdeal Candidate:Enjoys or seeks experience with small business accountingLikes investigating financial data to understand business operationsEnjoys refining their process for efficiency and effectivenessComfortable being on the phone and video calls with clients and their accounting teamsRequirements:Reside or ability to reside in Austin, TXProficient in Excel and Google SheetsStrong team player and collaboratorExcellent work ethic and attention to detailKnowledge of financial statements and accounting principlesFit for our company values listed abovePreferred Qualifications Include:Licensed CPABA/BS in accounting or finance1-2 years in investment banking, commercial banking, or private equityExperience building financial models in ExcelExtensive experience preparing both ledgers and financial statements with QuickbooksExperience reconciling tax returns, financial statements, and payroll reportsExperience with the tax implications of selling a businessExperience with Valuations/AppraisalsExperience with financial statement analysis and data mining of key performance indicators from small business’s operational systemsOur TeamYou'll join a diverse group of MBAs, healthcare professionals, real estate experts, CPAs/bookkeepers, and M&A specialists, with hands-on training provided.CompensationStarting around $65,000 per year depending on experience and any preferred qualifications you might have. Entry level candidates requiring skill-building may start slightly lower during the first 8-12 weeks of training.
