Job description:ABC Plumbing, Sewer, Heating, Cooling & Electric is a leading multi-trade residential home services company providing plumbing, sewer, HVAC, and electrical services to homeowners across the Chicagoland region, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Florida.In partnership with Rising Point Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on founder-owned services businesses, ABC is continuing an aggressive growth strategy through strategic acquisitions and operational excellence.We are seeking a highly driven and analytical Manager of M&A to help lead acquisition sourcing, diligence, execution, and integration efforts across our expanding residential home services platform.Position OverviewThe Manager of M&A will play a highly visible role within ABC and work closely with executive leadership and Rising Point Capital to identify and execute strategic acquisitions. This role will partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and integration teams to support all phases of the M&A lifecycle.This position is based in Arlington Heights, IL (approximately 30 minutes outside Chicago) and requires travel to acquisition targets, trade conferences, and branch locations as needed.What You'll DoAcquisition Sourcing & Pipeline DevelopmentBuild and maintain a proprietary pipeline of acquisition targets across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and adjacent residential service tradesDevelop and execute AI-powered outbound sourcing campaigns targeting founder-owned and family-owned businessesBuild relationships with business owners, brokers, and industry partners through direct outreach and conference attendanceMaintain CRM discipline and provide regular pipeline reporting to executive leadership and the BoardDiligence & Deal ExecutionLead financial, commercial, and operational diligence efforts for acquisition targetsCoordinate Quality of Earnings (QofE) reviews, market analysis, customer analysis, and operational benchmarkingBuild and maintain financial models, returns analysis, and synergy modelsPrepare investment memos, indicative offers, and Letters of Intent (LOIs)Manage external advisors across legal, accounting, tax, insurance, and operational diligence workstreamsIntegration & Value CreationServe as project manager for post-close integration initiativesPartner with operations teams to execute Day 1 readiness plans including systems, branding, payroll, and customer communicationsTrack synergy realization and integration milestones against acquisition assumptionsHelp develop scalable integration playbooks for future acquisitionsStrategy & ReportingSupport development of ABC's multi-year M&A roadmap and expansion strategyPrepare quarterly M&A updates for the Board of Directors and investorsContribute to broader strategic initiatives including pricing analysis, technician retention strategies, and operational best practicesWhat We're Looking For4–7 years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, corporate development, or related fieldsDirect M&A execution experience including financial modeling, diligence management, and deal structuringExperience in residential services, multi-site businesses, or skilled trades industries strongly preferredAdvanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including LBO and add-on acquisition analysisStrong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work directly with founder-ownersAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of ownership and accountabilityWillingness to travel as neededEducationBachelor's degree requiredMBA, CPA, or CFA preferred but not requiredWhy Join ABC?Opportunity to play a key role in a rapidly growing private equity-backed platformDirect exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision-makingFast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with significant career growth potentialAbility to shape acquisition strategy within one of the fastest-growing residential services platforms in the Midwest
