Seeking candidates who are highly motivated to put their knowledge into play developing, deploying and maintaining advanced, complex operational networks. Seeking mid-level talent for this hybrid position in the Lorton, VA area. This is a full-time role. 10% travel is required every 3 months to attend Program Increment (PI) planning.What You'll Be DoingModernizing operational mission systems ensuring mission effectiveness, reliability, and cybersecurityDesigning and authoring software application upgrades from a high level, non-specific set of concepts provided by the governmentProducing specifications and design documentation including: Process flow, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, system and web service interface specifications, data dictionary, data modelCreating project work estimatesImplementing solutions and identifying operational or management issuesSystems designing, policy development, and database development and management, and user interface developmentUtilizing available Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software to the maximum extent practicable in designing software applications, avoiding implementation of a proprietary systemDuties InvolvedOperating System upgrades and patches to ensure mission system readiness and cyber securityTransition, modernize, and sustainthe main code base of the applicationCollaborate to implement new features, enhance existing functionality, and address any technical debt to ensure the application meets evolving mission requirementsTransition activities to include requirement reviews and assessments, backlog reviews, documentation review, development environment and tooling standupSupport demonstrations at sprint and product increment reviewsClearance requirementActive Secret, minimumEducationFour (4) year college degree in software development or computer scienceIn lieu of education, ten (10) years of experience of software development for systems in a production environment.Experience to includeFive (5) years' experience of systems administration in a production environmentExperience with system sustainment and maintenance; operating system and application patching and upgradesMust be familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems (see preferred skills belowPreferred SkillsLinux (RHEL, Ubuntu)AnsibleGitlab (repose, merging)PowerShellBash ScriptingPythonAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.At MAXISIQ, inclusion drives innovation.
