Dental AssistantUnder general supervision, assists the dentist and/or dental hygienist in chairside dentistry in the clinic.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist dentist and dental hygienist in management of a medical and dental emergenciesTakes x-rays as prescribed by dentistInstructs a client in oral hygieneInstructs a client in oral hygiene and plaque control programsPrepares clients, sterilizes instruments, sets up instrumental trays, prepares materials, assists dentist during dental treatment and cleans roomAssists with all aspects of sealants, dental health education programs, and health fairsAssists with administrative duties of Oral Health Program including intake process, scheduling appointments, and billingRecords treatment information in client records.Follows clinical guidelines of record documentation and HIPPA regulationsMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in a dental setting; or a Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant; or one (1) year experience at the lower level Dental Billingual English/Spanish preferred.
