Job Overview: Bartenders are responsible for serving guests in the bar by taking & serving food & beverage orders while ensuring to check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.Reports to: Food & Beverage ManagementDuties And ResponsibilitiesGreet guests, take food and beverage orders, prepare drink orders for the bar, and restaurantMaintain stock, supplies, and cleanliness of outlet and equipmentHave thorough working knowledge of Micros system -- ordering, check presentation, payment processing, closing reports while reporting all tipsMaintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk drivingMaintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware and garnishes in the restaurant and all menu items (including daily specials), prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentationMaintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and dress code of the restaurantObtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Keep bank secure at all timesHandle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfactionMaintains a clean and organized work environment at all times, following all Safety and Health Department guidelinesQualificationsMust have flexible schedule including availability on days, nights, weekends, and holidaysPrevious experience as a BartenderDesire to grow within the hospitality industry is preferredAbility to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervisionAbility to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculationsAbility to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse angerAbility to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at onceKnowledge of fine wines, beer, and liquorAlcohol awareness certification (TIPS Training) is preferredKnowledge of P.O.S. system, preferably MicrosFood Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certified is preferredMust be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal.
