Job SummaryResponsible for providing musical opportunities for students playing wind and percussion instruments as part of the Symphonic Band and Marching Band ensembles.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesSymphonic Band Facilitate all after school/weekend rehearsals and concerts, PMEA District Band auditions and festivals, York County High School Honors Band rehearsals and festivals, and liaising and meeting with the Northeastern Music Boosters organization frequently.Duties may also include planning, participating, and providing oversight during multiple-day trips to non-local destinations for the purpose of exposing students to significant cultural and educational events and places and providing performance opportunities. Marching Band Planning, organizing, instructing, and supervising students as part of a marching ensemble.Selecting and teaching appropriate music, securing and teaching field drill and other marching routines.Developing and executing a schedule of rehearsals and performances,Securing and providing oversight to adult staff, working closely with parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and the athletic department.Maintaining excellent communication with all constituents including the general public.Performing other duties as assigned by the administration.Education And ExperienceOther education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration
