Data Center Infrastructure Technician

*Job Description:*We need a resource to support and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple regional data center locations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience within data center infrastructure and support. This role is critical in supporting infrastructure growth and ensuring the stability of our data center facilities. *Requirements:* * 3-5-year practical experience working within Data Center environment and/or IT Infrastructure Support * Hands-on experience with OSI Layer 1 network troubleshooting * In-depth knowledge of fiber and copper cabling standards and practices * Proficiency using cable testing tools for fiber and copper connections * Experience with server and network hardware installation in data center environments * Familiarity with structured cabling, including patch panel and trunk installation * Ability to inspect, clean, and maintain fiber optic connections * Experience with environmental monitoring and responding to physical alerts (e.g., high temps, audible alarms) * Understanding of data center capacity planning (rack space, power, switch ports) * Ability to follow and maintain strict labeling and documentation standards * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills * Physical ability to lift and install hardware as needed * Associate's Degree or Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent direct work-related experience. *Nice To Have:* * A+ Service Technician and/or CompTIA Server+ and/or CompTIA Network+ * Demonstrated ability to absorb change and continue to deliver positive results Job Type: Contract Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Monday to Friday Experience: * Data Center Infrastructure Technician: 4 years (Required) * OSI Layer 1 network troubleshooting: 3 years (Required) * copper cabling: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: * CompTIA Server+ (Preferred) * CompTIA Network+ (Preferred) Ability to Commute: * Charlotte, NC 28202 (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Charlotte, NC 28202
