Fleet Mechanic
DescriptionFleet Mechanic will coordinate with the team, prioritize & process repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment used by BAC Transportation. Performing these duties professionally, in a timely manner, using good judgment while keeping safety a top consideration.RequirementsDuties & Responsibilities:Prioritizes, assigns/processes daily maintenance requests regarding building and/or vehicles.Performs various diagnostics and troubleshooting on various mechanical and electrical problems that may be experienced.Order various parts that may be needed.Maintains an inventory of critical parts and shop supplies that may be needed.Responsible for scheduling required maintenance and preventative maintenance, and ensures that the schedule is adhered to.Responsible for maintaining all service and repair records on the fleet vehicles.Responsible for ensuring all DOT inspections are completed and that all vehicles in service are in DOT compliance (if applicable)Advises the Shop Supervisor and CEO as to the overall condition of the fleet and assists in scheduling the replacement of aging vehicles that become cost-inefficient or unsafe.Advises the Shop Supervisor and CEO on the repair and diagnostic equipment required to properly maintain a fleet.Communicates with personnel from other departments concerning possible maintenance assistance.Monitor the company-assigned email box and process requests.Record information as required by the company.Ensures that all equipment used for servicing and repairs conforms to OSHA standards.Ensures that all maintenance and repairs are accomplished safely and follow OSHA guidelines.Executes all terms and conditions as outlined in the employee handbook.Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications:Must be at least 21 years old.You must hold a valid driver's license, have an excellent driving record, and have at least 5 years of US driving experience.Clear a Criminal History Records Check and a Security Threat Assessment to qualify for an Airport Badge.Must pass Drug and Alcohol tests and pass background checks.Must have a stable work history and a reliable and punctual track record.Must have your bare hand toolsMust have at least five years' experience as an automotive mechanic with a preference for diesel engine experience.High School diploma or equivalent.Fluency in reading and writing in the English language. Physical Requirements:Good eyesight, hearing, manual coordination, and dexterity.The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to lift, push, pull 75+ lbs. or more.This position requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and pushing.While performing duties, the employee is exposed to various weather conditions, including ice, snow, cold, and heat.Ability to calmly handle schedule changes and unexpected situations.Work Environment:
