Human Resources Business Partner
Work Location: Onsite - Bridgewater, Virginia Position Summary: The HR Business Partner provides HR support and direction to a designated organizational unit. This position guides decision-making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing, and rewarding the industry’s best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant.Key Responsibilities: Support the organization in a variety of HR functions including recruiting, retention, succession planning, performance management, compensation, benefits, engagement, legal compliance, employee changes, communications and employee relationsCollaborate with the CHRO/SVP of Human Resources and respective client groups to design organization structure, business processes and systems that support their strategic goalsWork to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforceCollaborate with and provide guidance to managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, the disciplinary action process, etc.Ensure that all policies and procedures are compliant with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administeredProactively suggest and promote processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customersMonitor key metrics (i.e. turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist the functional area in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectivenessDemonstrate solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom lineInteract with and foster teamwork at all levels and across all functions and departmentsAct as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisionsUtilize employee feedback tools (new hire/stay/exit interviews/engagement surveys/focus groups, etc.) to provide actionable data to business partnersLead discussions and investigations of Employee Relations mattersMaintain confidentiality concerning personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and organizational plansOther duties as assigned Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline; PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred2-5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist, including interviewing and performance managementExperience in partnering with and advising business leadershipHigh degree of professional ethics, sense of fairness, and the ability to work with individuals at all levelsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external business relationshipsExperience in an office setting handling sensitive and confidential informationComputer proficiency and technical aptitude to utilize MS Office Products and HRIS (Dayforce preferred)Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment meeting tight deadlinesKnowledge of pertinent federal and state employment regulations, filing, and compliance requirementsStrong project/time management skillsDetail oriented, well organized, and able to multitaskNegotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders through collaborationPrior experience with union environments is strongly preferred Preferred QualificationsAviation industry experienceInternational HR experienceHR certificationsAdditional RequirementsAbility to travel for career fairs and recruiting events as neededWorking ConditionsMonday- Friday 8 AM- 5 PM
