Big‑D Construction has an opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer to join our team of construction professionals based in Irvine, CA.
Key responsibilities include: Receive and review submittals
Write and track RFIs and process or assist in change orders
Prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes
Maintain construction drawings, provide marketing assistance as required
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration
Utilize and maintain the company standard project administration software, Prolog, and Big‑D forms
Keep up‑to‑date on construction drawings and as‑builts
Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs to correlate with the project schedule and the demands of the project
Keep up‑to‑date on submittals, RFIs and responses, project changes & work progress, especially the items that could delay project or cause a loss, if installed incorrectly
Visit each project site prior to the commencement of construction, and video records all areas that might be impacted by the construction
Maintain the electronic and hard copy project folders as requested by the project manager
Provide the required up‑to‑date copies of drawings and specifications to subcontractors
Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Assist superintendent in verifying that all materials installed coincide with the approved submittals
Ensure that the project site and construction activities are being constantly documented in writing and especially in photos
Assist with 3‑week look ahead schedules
Assist the project team to create, manage, and modify subcontract agreement and/or purchase order
Coordinate with the project manager to track master subcontract agreements, and ensure that the office receives signed agreements back
Assist the project manager and job cost accountant, as necessary, with preparation and review of monthly pay applications
Provide clerical activities, as needed, with particular project staffing
Assist with project bids and bid solicitation, as requested

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of related experience working on commercial construction projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience
