Network Engineer

Position OverviewA technology team is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to guide and execute network engineering initiatives across the organization. This role will initially focus on network infrastructure projects, including external partner connectivity, office network deployments, and ongoing infrastructure improvements. Responsibilities may broaden over time as the environment and business needs evolve.Mandatory Requirements:Must work on site five days per week at the designated office location.Must have 5–10 years of experience in network engineering, network security, or a closely related function.Must have strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, and firewall technologies.Must have scripting or programming experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a similar language.Must be able to support cloud networking, with AWS experience strongly relevant.Must demonstrate strong communication and project management capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead network engineering projects, including external connectivity integrations, office network implementations, and infrastructure modernization efforts.Design, deploy, operate, and maintain network infrastructure across multiple technology layers.Administer and support routing, switching, firewall, and related network systems.Build and enhance cloud networking capabilities, particularly within AWS-based environments.Create and maintain automation scripts and tooling to improve repeatability, efficiency, and operational reliability.Apply and improve network security standards, controls, and operational practices.Partner with infrastructure, systems, security, and other technical teams to deliver shared initiatives.Troubleshoot network issues and support ongoing improvements to performance, stability, and resiliency.Learn and adopt new technologies as the environment evolves.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.5+ years of professional experience in network engineering, network security, or a similar role.Deep understanding of traditional networking concepts and technologies, including routing, switching, and firewalls.Practical experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or comparable tools.Working knowledge of network security principles, controls, and best practices.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate priorities, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and technical domains.Familiarity with public cloud environments, especially AWS.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting cloud networking in AWS.Background in financial services or another highly regulated, security-conscious environment.Experience with network automation, infrastructure-as-code, or configuration management tools.Exposure to multi-site office network deployments or external partner connectivity projects.Why Join This Team / Organization SummaryThis role offers the opportunity to take ownership of important network engineering initiatives within a collaborative infrastructure team.
