Quality Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support manufacturing operations at a leading organization's Columbia, Missouri facility. This is a hands-on role that combines floor-based inspection work with reporting and audit responsibilities. You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.ResponsibilitiesPerform product and in-process inspections using basic hand tools (calipers, pin gauges, height indicators)Conduct quality audits on products, outbound shipments, and production processesDocument and communicate inspection results to internal teams and customersIdentify non-conforming products and support corrective actionsCollaborate with Quality Engineers to improve audit plans and inspection proceduresReview and evaluate quality control systems (e.g., poka-yoke, jidoka)Support capability studies and perform Gage R&R analysisAssist with process improvements and recommend enhancements to inspection methodsParticipate in supplier quality inspections and ensure compliance with customer requirementsPerform random inspections to assess ongoing product qualityUtilize digital tools and systems to track and improve quality processesWork directly on the production floor alongside operations teamsRequired QualificationsExperience performing quality inspections or audits in a manufacturing environmentProficiency with Excel and general computer systemsHands-on experience with inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, and measurement devicesAbility to clearly communicate audit findings to internal teams and customersStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsComfortable working on the production floor in a hands-on capacityPreferred QualificationsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and geometric tolerancesFamiliarity with military or commercial measurement specificationsExperience supporting quality studies such as Gage R&R or process capabilityHigh school diploma or GEDStrong communication, teamwork, and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to influence adherence to quality standards and proceduresDesired QualificationsExperience with basic hand tools such as calipers, pin gauges, height indicators.Interpret blueprints, symbols and geometric tolerances based on military and commercial specifications for measurement feasibility.Effectively use computers, software, and automation systems as required in performance of assigned duties.High school diploma or GED preferred.Good written and oral communication skills.Analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulationsStrong leadership skills and teamwork mentalityJ-18808-Ljbffr
