General Summary
Provide efficient operation of the Meals on Wheels Home Delivery services, including the preparation of meals, training, scheduling of volunteers, oversight of packing, pick-up and delivery, client reassessments, and maintenance of accurate records for MOW clients and volunteers. Provide general office support, kitchen assistance, corporate outreach, and community engagement as needed.

General Summary
Provide efficient operation of the Meals on Wheels Home Delivery services, including preparation of meals, training and scheduling of volunteers, oversight of packing, pick-up, and delivery, client reassessments, and maintenance of accurate records for MOW clients and volunteers. Provide general office support, kitchen assistance, corporate outreach, and community engagement as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Manage the proper preparation and on-time delivery of meals to home-bound seniors following all standards developed by Meals on Wheels People
Schedule volunteer drivers for each route daily
Maintain route books with accurate delivery information on MOW participants; adjust as needed.
Follow up on MOW participant if the driver is unable to deliver the meal
Responsible for home delivery client care, including reassessments, change of condition tracking, and record maintenance; alert Client Service Coordinator and Site Manager as necessary regarding needs/high-risk clients
Perform Meals on Wheels delivery duties for routes lacking volunteer coverage
Assist the Site Manager as necessary with responsive hunger relief services
Supplemental meals for clients with food insecurity
Meal services for partnerships and contracts
Ethnic meals
Programming in response to isolation
Assist site Manager with corporate outreach and community engagement
Assist in the recruitment, screening, registration, training, and recognition of volunteers
Complete all required administrative tasks as assigned
Have knowledge of Meals on Wheels People agency-wide events and fundraising initiatives
Participate in in-service training and attend required meetings
Support Meals on Wheels People, Inc.'s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Other duties as assigned
Education & Knowledge
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain within two weeks
Valid drivers license, auto insurance, and transportation required
Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
Skills, Abilities & Experience
Proven experience to effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers
Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian, or African languages strongly preferred
Excellent organizational, record keeping, time management, and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to set priorities and be flexible to last-minute changes
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including minority, low income and persons with disabilities
Strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions
Ability to repetitively move 25lbs; routinely moves cooler and cooler bags from one location to another and from various heights in preparation of and for the completion of meal delivery; ability to ascend stairs and move around on city sidewalks
Proficient in computer applications and MS Office including, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with client data management systems a plus
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Fast-paced, with significant people interaction. May be required to move up to 50lbs, 25lbs repetitively, and frequently position self to stoop, bend, and crouch, sitting for short periods and typing. Dexterity of hands and fingers required for the operation of general office equipment. Must pass drug and alcohol test and criminal background check.
Any satisfactory combination of experience, training, and/or education that ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.
