Payroll Associate

Payroll AssociateThe Payroll Associate is responsible for daily activities related to accurate, timely, and confidential preparation and distribution of 9,000+ Canadian employees' and 45,000+ United States employees' biweekly payroll. This position is responsible for research and validation of weekly pay cycle information while adhering to all regulatory compliance laws. In addition, the associate is responsible for all internal and external customer service related to payroll inquiries and processes. Special projects may be assigned as needed. The position has high integrity and maintains the highest level of privacy and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive confidential material. Major Activities Ensure that all payroll procedures follow Canada Revenue and all Provincial regulatory bodies as well as all US Legislation. This includes all states and must be done through thorough research and adherence to current state and provincial laws as well as company policy. Audit payroll each pay cycle to ensure transactions have been processed accurately Research and resolve Freshservice cases and email queries related to payroll (W2, pay issues, general questions, etc.). Validate all final pay requests and complete employee termination requirement for payroll including the funding of the payment. Provide internal and external customer service for all payroll related needs Respond to external audit requests including bank, legal and government requests Research and respond to government or agency related inquiries including garnishments, child support, levies, etc. Create and report ROE (Record of Employment) for all status changes of an employee in Canada to the Canadian Government via formal inquiries. Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills Knowledge of ADP Pay Specialist, ProBusiness, Oracle HR, Microsoft Excel and Word, Time and Attendance systems Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires 1-3 years prior payroll experience Preferred Education Some college preferred (Business / Accounting) Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills FPC or CPP helpful Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires Garnishment experience and Canada payroll processing experience a plus
