Job Overview We are seeking skilled and passionate Sushi Chefs to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sushi preparation, food handling, and culinary arts, with a focus on creating authentic and visually appealing sushi dishes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in a fine dining environment, contributing to a memorable dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi, engaging the Guests at the sushi bar, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the presentation meets our restaurant’s standards of excellence. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food handling and preparation practices adhere to food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area Plan menus that incorporate fresh ingredients and innovative sushi options Manage inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy hours Uphold high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety in all aspects of food preparation Assist with catering events or special functions as needed Train junior kitchen staff or culinary interns in sushi preparation techniques Qualifications Proven experience in sushi preparation, fine dining, or culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus Previous restaurant or catering experience preferred Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work efficiently under pressure Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Culinary certification or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory This position offers an engaging environment for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese cuisine and high-quality food service.
